Founder & Designer - House of Untamed

House of Untamed was founded by artist and designer Abigail Picton-Turbervill, bringing her original hand-drawn artwork to clothing, accessories and pieces for the home.

Born and raised in South Africa to a Scottish/Māori mother and British father, Abigail’s work is shaped by a mix of cultures, experiences and influences. Her love of art started almost as soon as she could hold a pen - one of her earliest memories is sitting at four years old, endlessly drawing mermaids and perfecting their tails.

After completing a Diploma in Visual Communications in South Africa, Abigail moved to the UK to study for a BA (Hons) in Textiles at Cardiff University. Today, she creates from London, but her process remains instinctive rather than planned. She rarely begins with a sketch. Instead, it starts with music, a blank page and a pen, allowing the sound and emotion of the moment to dictate where each line goes.

Working in pen means there’s no erasing. Mistakes become part of the artwork, and no two drawings can ever truly be recreated. That freedom to experiment, embrace imperfection and see where something takes you became a huge part of the brand.

House of Untamed isn’t designed for a particular age, gender or type of person, it’s for a personality.

It’s for people who want the freedom to wear something because they love it. Loud or understated, dressed up or thrown on, clashed with something completely unexpected or worn entirely your own way. The collections are bold, expressive, inclusive and unapologetically individual.

There’s no right way to wear House of Untamed. The personality wearing it is what brings it to life.
